I served as the lead developer for the popular DocMorris and medpex mobile applications, which have gained recognition through their appearances in television commercials. Both apps were developed using React Native, a UI framework created by Facebook, with Typescript as the programming language. By utilizing a single codebase, we were able to generate both Android and iPhone apps simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate development teams.
Throughout the development process, we adhered to clean code principles to ensure high-quality standards. Rigorous code reviews were conducted to maintain excellence. Our team followed the Scrum framework, working in a self-organizing manner.
Our goal was to create a flawless app experience for our discerning customers. The feedback we received directly from users in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, with over 36,000 reviews for each app (Android and iOS) as of January 3, 2021, and an average customer rating of over 4.8, serves as a testament to the app’s exceptional quality. The medpex app has already been downloaded nearly 2 million times and continues to experience rapid growth.
Functions of the medpex App:
- Product descriptions, application areas, instructions, dosages, side effects and active ingredients for products from the areas of health, cosmetics and wellness.
- Customer reviews and opinions about the products
- Search and order products quickly and easily
- Memopad function (web store and local notepad)
- Categories to browse for products
- free Apotheken Umschau, medizini or medpex well-being magazine and samples on request
- Reward selection from the bonus program
- Redemption of vouchers
- View old and current orders incl. processing status
The DocMorris app is derived from the medpex code base and share nearly the same functions. I left the company shortly before it’s release end of 2021.
